It is official: progress on improving recycling rates stalled in 2015 – with government data showing that recycling rates across the country went backwards for the first time since records began. In our nation’s capital and in cities across the country, getting residents to do the right thing with their waste has become increasingly challenging, with population growth and churn, shrinking municipal budgets, language and logistical hurdles all having an impact on waste services.
